Funding My Care

Moving into a care home can feel like a significant life step change similar to a first day in a new school, leaving home for the first time, getting married or a first day in a new job. Some experiences feel exciting and some can make us feel anxious. To help you or your loved one feel as comfortable and as supported as possible you can expect a friendly welcome into your new home.

Financially – it is important to understand how your care is funded and what to expect in terms of how much you will need to contribute.

We are able to accept contribution by local authority or Continuing Health Care funding toward care fees for those who are entitled to it.  These contributions are accepted with a top that is paid directly to The Oasis to meet the same fee structure that those paying for their own care make.   Your social worker will be able to confirm what level of funding you may be entitled to.

Top up and privately funded care is invoiced monthly in advance.

Our fees vary depending upon the room of choice and individual care needs.  As a guide our 2016/17 room rates include:

Standard room (always single occupancy)

£550 per week

With en-suite toilet and basin

£650 per week

With en-suite wet room

£695 per week

£850 per week

£700 per week

It is rare that we would charge any additional care needs on top of the rates quoted but we do need to reserve judgement on this in the event of exceptional circumstances.

All of our first floor rooms have passenger lift access which means that it should not be necessary to change rooms should mobility deteriorate.

Our fees include all of the usual services including personal care, care planning and health care co-ordination, medication administration and auditing, housekeeping, laundry, meals prepared and overseen by our qualified Chef and  live music three times a week as well as a number of in-house activities (although some activities require a contribution toward materials or the cost of the activity).

A high quality of life is achieved with the combination of choices of day rooms to choose from and our cohesive and dedicated staff team who enjoy good working relationships with the management – we all work ‘as one’.

Additional costs to bear in mind include personal requisites (including non-prescription continence aids), hair dressing, chiropody, supplementary therapy (massage etc), some activities and outings.

All in all The Oasis offers exceptionally good value for a very high standard of personalised care in a lovely home setting that is continuously invested in and cared for.

The Oasis genuinely is ‘A really nice place to be….’
